POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for identifying, developing, deploying, and evaluating necessary fleet maintenance education, programs, communication, documentation, and projects critical to FedEx Freight's ability to maintain the readiness of highly skilled and competent technician workforce ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Primary liaison to Fleet Maintenance leadership in the identification, curriculum development and implementation of technician educational opportunities, provide support to employees involved in education courses or programs and conduct specialized education projects as needed to support efficiency improvements and technician readiness
- Lead projects with complex technical elements to ensure education curricula are aligned to and directly support the achievement of strategic objectives
- Assess, design, develop and implement rollout of new education/ training programs/ classes for new policies/ procedures, systems and/or governmental regulations; follow up on education compliance processes
- Prepare detailed project plans for all project phases to achieve objectives within established timeframes, ensuring day-to-day activities, resources, meeting facilitation, external vendor relationships, communication and budgets are executed
- Oversee all aspects of Fleet Maintenance-related event planning and logistics, including contracts, travel & entertainment, vendor coordination and related communications
- Serve and represent FXF Fleet Maintenance on committees or special projects as assigned, including but not limited to the Fleet Maintenance Apprentice Program, Technical School partnerships, Skills USA involvement, Top Wrench and other industry committees and organizations
- Manage and maintain effective vendor relationships which include education opportunities, accessibility of proprietary information and support of new product orientation
- Serve as a technical writer to create, review, and edit organizational communication including advanced technical documentation, audio/visual elements, and act as a liaison between various Subject Matter Experts involved, ensuring all appropriate levels of approval are secured prior to deployment.
- Create, review and update and manage access to educational manuals, courses, and classes to reflect changes in company policy, new equipment, systems, and government regulations, integrating the instructional design process in partnership with L&D
- Participate and advise in the evolution of company equipment specifications ensuring technician readiness implications are represented
- Benchmark with other FedEx operating companies and the overall industry on fleet maintenance "best practices".
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years' fleet maintenance, education, program/project management or other relevant LTL experience
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, define issues and identify/present solutions
- Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office software including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to maintain confidential information
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to travel
- Hours may vary due to operational need
- May be exposed to extreme hot and cold weather changes, dust and fumes in a service center/fleet maintenance shop environment
