Whether you're experienced with industrial sewing machines or eager to learn, this position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a team that produces products used by children every day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

In this role, you'll bring craftsmanship, consistency, and care to each step of the production process. Every day, you'll have the opportunity to see the impact of your work by creating well-made, safe, and durable products that meet our quality standards. You'll be trusted to:

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to complete sewing tasks such as binding and closing stuffed products.
  • Change needles, thread, and materials efficiently so production runs smoothly.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on sewing machines to keep equipment in top condition.
  • Assist with operating additional machinery and equipment while following all safety procedures.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure every product meets required specifications.

  • Collaborate closely with your team to meet daily production goals and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Support a positive and productive work environment where teamwork and communication matter.

This is a role where your attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to jump in wherever needed truly make a difference.

ABOUT YOU:

You're someone who takes pride in doing things right the first time and enjoys being part of a team working toward a shared goal. You bring a strong work ethic, steady hands, and a commitment to quality. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production setting (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with industrial sewing machines (highly desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, such as patterns and sew notes.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculations.
  • A positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • The ability to maintain consistent attendance and arrive prepared for each shift.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures in a manufacturing environment (a plus).

You should also feel comfortable performing the physical requirements of the job, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs., and working in a fast-paced production environment with moving equipment and occasional noise.

WHO WE ARE

It all started with a need: safe, soft play environments for preschoolers didn't exist. From this realization, our founders created the first geometric foam shapes, sewn by a local women's quilting group in the back of an old tavern. What began as a small, family-driven endeavor grew into a company with a big vision - helping children explore, grow, and learn through purposeful, fun, and imaginative products.

Today, we operate from two facilities in Union, Missouri, employing more than 100 dedicated individuals, many with over 25 years of experience. Their passion and craftsmanship ensure every product meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and care. Rooted in Midwestern values of hard work, collaboration, and family, we're proud to create tools that spark creativity, confidence, and growth for children, caregivers, and educators alike.

Our founders didn't just build a company; they built a community - opening their home to over 30 foster children and inspiring us to do more. Guided by their legacy, we continue to innovate, expanding our impact to foster learning, nurture children, and support those shaping the next generation.

At Children's Factory, we believe the future is built one moment of play at a time. Together, let's create a world where every child can imagine, inspire, and learn.
