This position provides comprehensive support to the School of Nursing (SON) executive leadership by managing daily operations, administrative functions, and a broad portfolio of strategic and tactical projects. This position is responsible for ensuring seamless administrative and personnel support for assigned executives, including the coordination and preparation of confidential personnel actions for all of SON Units. This position will also support a wide range of strategic and tactical projects by defining priorities, developing action plans, conducting research and engaging with stakeholders. This role also supports the shared governance between SON and School of Medicine (SOM) on key initiatives and ensures that SON leadership has timely and accurate information and informed recommendations for effective decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Demonstrated political acumen to work in an executive-level office environment. Ability to represent the SON with tact and discretion to all constituents.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to manage complex calendar, to schedule and coordinate large, complex meetings and special events and monitor/maintain complex projects, and ability to work with detail and complete tasks on time, with little or no supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate in person; investigative skills to elicit information needed to clarify inquiries and requests; professional skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically; and work effectively and sensitively with constituents from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
- Excellent organizational skills; demonstrate skill to work on projects with competing deadlines and to establish goals and workload priorities; and flexibility in dealing with people and competing demands.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and to make effective decisions based on knowledge of Campus and University priorities, resources and policies.
- Ability to anticipate problems/roadblocks and associated consequences and taking appropriate initiative.
- Flexibility to maintain multiple projects with shift priorities.
- Personal initiative and ability to accept responsibility for decisions and actions.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills to quickly and accurately produce correspondence and other written materials.

- Accomplished organizational and analytical skills to assume general assignments and independently follow through to successful completion; and to manage details of complex projects and events.
- Skill to effectively and efficiently manage multiple, complex electronic calendars preferred, experience and strong organizational skills to schedule and coordinate large-scale conferences/meetings and special events preferred.
- Computer knowledge and skills to apply various programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and software to accomplish assignments, and the ability to learn new software, as necessary.
- Resourcefulness to problem-solve using colleagues, the Internet and good judgement

- Demonstrated experience working in higher education or a similar setting.
- Working knowledge of University of California policies and procedures.
