Position Summary

The Information Technology (IT) Manager provides oversight and management of the company's IT Service and Infrastructure value chains. Ensuring that computer hardware and software, as well as networks and servers, perform consistently and effectively. Directly supervise one to four direct reports. This role acts as the point of contact for ITSM-related planning, projects, budgets, long-term problem solving, handling of incidents, and issues with the company's IT systems. In addition, this role is responsible for administering systems and working to deploy and implement.

Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management

  • Work with vendors to negotiate and manage contracts.
  • Find new vendors and technology, then negotiate contracts.
  • Make IT purchases and review and approve all IT-related invoices.
  • Through continual improvement methods, identify and implement process improvements.


Leadership

  • Offer guidance, training, team building, and mentoring opportunities to the IT Service team.
  • Delegate tasks to IT Service and Infrastructure members.
  • Review IT Technician performance and, if necessary, take corrective action, including mediation and problem resolution.
  • Review change plans and take action to prevent issues.
  • Create a sense of common purpose and commitment.
  • Review training and development options and select appropriate methods to increase staff knowledge.


Administration

  • Respond to vendor, owner, and employee incident escalations.
  • Assist employees with issues by using remote access applications.
  • Maintain disaster recovery software, analyze its activity, and find ways to increase its efficiency.
  • Streamline data storage applications, including SharePoint, Dropbox, etc.
  • Assist with office renovations by offering insight into the IT capabilities of the location.
  • Maintain and improve enterprise-wide IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain and improve enterprise-wide IT systems.
  • Maintain CMMC v2 evidence and audits.
  • Offer 3rd-tier support.
  • Any other task or duty as assigned or required.


Best Practice Processes, Tools, and Methods

  • Using CMMCv2 - Identify and lead the introduction of relevant best practice processes, tools, and models.
  • Promote adoption of best practice processes, tools, and models.
  • Provide advice, coaching, and technical support to embed the use of best practice processes, tools, and models.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of best practice processes, tools, and models in the area of specialism.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Three to five plus years of experience in the IT Field as a Systems Administrator or the like.
  • ITIL Foundations v4 certificate.
  • Construction Industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, On-Prem Active Directory, Backup Solutions, SharePoint, Dropbox, Windows and macOS, VMWare, Cisco Meraki, SmartDeploy, Dell, and Apple hardware systems.
  • Extensive skills, training, and knowledge of software and operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology, standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
  • Continued grasp on IT trends, best practices, and ability to develop written company policies and procedures.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills, leadership skills, along with the use of independent judgment and creativity applied to the resolution of issues.
  • Highly proactive and responsive to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and advise project leadership on complex issues
  • Good problem-solving skills/decision-making skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

This office-based role requires frequent computer use and effective communication, with occasional travel to project sites as needed. Site visits may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
