Job Location: Preferred: Atlanta, GA Other: DGF Office locations in US and Canada would be considered for the right candidate. We have an exciting opportunity as Regional Head of Compliance and Data Protection Officer (RCO + RDPO). The RCO + RDPO is an integral part of DHL Group Compliance Organization. The RCO sets up and coordinates the regional Compliance Management System and Data Protection Management System in alignment with the Business Unit Compliance Officer (BUCO). The RCO leads a dotted-line network consisting of Country Compliance Representatives, Compliance Champions, and Data Protection Officials in the United States and Canada within DHL Global Forwarding and Hillebrand Gori Americas. Objectives
- Provide insight, best practice, guidance and integrated compliance and data protection solutions to DGF NORAM and Hillebrand Gori Americas.
- Direct involvement in the implementation, monitoring and execution of the Compliance and Data Protection Management System.
- The RCO may also act as the Country Compliance Representative (CCR) in their country of location, providing hands-on support and ensuring local compliance implementation.
- Manage, guide, coordinate/align Country Compliance Representatives and Data Protection Officials in DGF NORAM, Hillebrand Gori Americas.
- Set up and coordinate a Compliance and Data Protection Management System and organization to meet these needs
- Ensure compliance policies (e.g. Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption and Business Ethics Policy, Supplier Lifecycle Management Guideline) and Data Protection policies/ requirements are implemented in the Region (as applicable), ensure adherence to compliance standards, legal requirements and data protection legislation.
- Maintain compliance processes in the Region including, but not limited to, data protection, incident management, business partner screening, compliance risk assessments, hospitality reporting, handling of customer compliance requests and compliance reporting.
- Track KPIs of DGFF's Data Protection Guidance (e.g. Training, Inventory and Assessments of Applications/Processes, Communication with Management).
- Communication (cascade, plan, coordinate for regional compliance awareness & communication)
- Monitoring (conduct data protection and compliance monitoring, including Supplier Lifecycle Management Guideline
- Incident Management (promote Incident Reporting System, manage country specific investigations and coordinate / follow up with local management for recommendation & agreed actions)
- Customs Interaction Excellence Program (CIEP) (implement key elements, i.e. certification, onboarding, training, monitoring as applicable)
- Facilitating regular Compliance risk assessment workshops on regional, country or (if appropriate) business unit level, identifying and managing compliance (including data protection) risks according to the Global Compliance Risk Catalogue including recording, maintenance and follow-up of the results and activities
- Being a highly visible "central point of contact" in the region for all matters related to compliance and data protection and promoting a culture of openness for reporting compliance concerns breaches or risks
- Coordinate with business, third parties and GBS Procurement to facilitate due diligence of suppliers, vendors, agents; coordinating regular reviews and documentation
- Participate in compliance initiatives of industry bodies and other external associations
Skills / Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills that are pragmatic, which demonstrates a strong understanding of the business
- Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills
- Degree in Law, Business Management, Finance or equivalent, with senior management experience in an international service-related environment
- Minimum 5 years of legal, corporate compliance, or related experience required
- Role model in compliance and business ethics
- Travel Expectation: 25% - 30%.
Pay Range: $150,637.50 - $200,850.00+ (Based on Experience)
