Overview
Utah State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of DI Assistant Men's Tennis Coach. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting, enhancing, and overseeing the Men's Tennis Program at the University. They will be responsible for providing coaching in both team and individual settings to improve sport-specific skills, as well as effectively advising, motivating, and mentoring student-athletes.

This position will collaborate with the Head Coach to ensure compliance with NCAA policies and regulations, serve as a liaison within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and engage with the Cache Valley and Utah State University communities, as well as participate in activities beyond the Tennis program, contributing to the overall success and reputation of USU Athletics.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Head Coach in developing, coordinating, and planning practices and competitions to develop student-athlete skills and helps the team perform at competitive levels.
  • Develops, coordinates, and plans assigned portions of practices and game management consistent with Head Coach's strategic vision.
  • Analyzes video to scout opponents and develop strategies for team development.
  • Executes a student-athlete talent recruitment plan and retention strategy consistent with program expectations.
  • Effectively leads and communicates with student athletes by generating excitement for the team through credible coaching.
  • Supports academic excellence. Assists in academic integration with team.
  • Assists in the development and execution of team strategy, logistics, and operational direction.
  • Operates within budget.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively with the Head Coach and athletics administrators.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of the program's operations. Violation of conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the university, could create negative publicity and jeopardize the University in conference or NCAA standings. Violations by employees will be documented and dealt with on an individual basis and can be cause for dismissal.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of one year college coaching experience and/or professional coaching/playing experience

Preferred Qualification:
  • Minimum one year experience coaching and recruiting at the NCAA DI level
