Summary / Position Purpose:

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for executing production activities in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations. This role supports the efficient operation of the manufacturing line by assembling products, operating equipment, inspecting materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.



Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Operate production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform assembly, packaging, or material handling tasks as assigned to meet production schedules.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Accurately document production data, material usage, and quality checks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and production areas (5S).
  • Identify, report, and help troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards, including PPE requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production goals.
  • Directly and indirectly responsible for product quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, SOPs, and basic schematics is a must.
  • Basic math, measurement, and computer/data entry skills is a must.
  • Experience operating manufacturing machinery or automated systems is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices is ideal.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., electronics, medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Problem-solving and adaptability skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality is a must.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
