Acentra Health is looking for a SQA Test Engineer, Manager to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The role of the Software Quality Assurance, Manager is to use Software Quality Assurance best practices to pursue and manage a zero-defect production environment and continuously improve and meet or exceed business objectives aligned to quality program delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day management and supervision of Software Quality Assurance team and works under minimal supervision from senior management
  • Manages the quality assurance (QA) and Software Quality Assurance processes
  • Manages by metrics and provides an executive Software Quality Assurance dashboard for projects and releases
  • Uses SQA frameworks to identify and manage test plans and related artifacts
  • Partners with peers to implement a reusable business framework, flushing out missed requirements and test scenarios
  • Manages continuous team improvement to eliminate defects before releasing into production
  • Manages testers to create traceable test plans and scripts
  • Uses tools and best practices to systematically measure and improve Software Quality Assurance
  • Manages automation initiatives, providing guidance and support to the team
  • Provides defect management support to user acceptance Software Quality Assurance team
  • Identifies and escalates risks and issues to senior management, assisting in providing guidance to develop solutions
  • Ensures team adherence to established controls, standards, and methodologies
  • Reviews the development and implementation of all test deliverables, ensuring quality and on-time delivery
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies, best practices, and procedures; and applies them to projects to ensure that test objectives are achieved
  • Determines, evaluates, and modifies project plans to meet current and future needs
  • Handles work situations that regularly deal with future business issues, maintaining a focus on business strategy and objectives
  • Manages resources (people, technology) across the Software Quality Assurance team
  • Partners with customers and analyzes issues and problems from the customer perspective
  • Provides customer-facing presentations on quality
  • Establishes exceptional working relationships with team members and management.
  • Possesses unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence
  • Keeps abreast of new technology and market developments
  • Adheres to company CMMI standards and processes
  • Represents project in CMMI evaluations
  • Requests both negative and positive feedback
  • Recruits highly skilled, motivated leaders and individual contributors
  • Encourages and facilitates the development of a significant knowledge base in the Software Quality Assurance team
  • Conducts performance evaluations and corrective action plans, measuring key performance indicators (KPI) while coordinating with Human Resources
  • Responsible for administrative functions related to recruiting, training, developing inter-personal skills among team members, conducting performance and annual reviews, setting SMART goals, recommending salary increases and adjustments, ensuring timekeeping compliance, and taking disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Assists in ensuring appropriate allocation and use of all available resources within functional team
  • Ensures proper use of unassigned time
  • Helps resolve conflicts affecting people and project priorities
  • Assists in facilitating the performance management process with Software Quality Assurance team, ensuring alignment with employee career goals and Software Quality Assurance team objectives
  • Provides guidance to Software Quality Assurance team, serving as a mentor and advisor
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field
  • 8+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience
  • 8+ years of experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance life cycle (STLC)
  • 5+ years of experience with formulation, design, and rollout of QA and Software Quality Assurance methodologies for both waterfall and agile (such as scrum, Kanban) software development life cycles
  • 5+ years of experience with industry Software Quality Assurance standards
  • 3+ years of management or Software Quality Assurance leader experience at large complex organizations, including leading centralized or matrixed teams
  • 3+ years of strong client management experience, including solid communication and negotiation skills
  • 3+ years of experience as a people manager
  • 3+ years of experience with test automation (preferably Selenium)
  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare or insurance industry
  • Hands-on experience in designing the framework (architect) and implementing processes around automation to meet the objectives
  • Strong understanding of Software Quality Assurance software (such as Atlassian Jira, Jenkins, Confluence)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written) with strong presentation and facilitation skills at all levels in the organization (from individual contributor to executive level)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare verticals in either provider, claims, or both
  • General understanding of role-relevant issues and trends
  • Ability to manage people, projects, budgets, administrative tasks, and costs
  • Strong technical understanding with the capability to explain the impact, solutions, root causes, and corrective actions in terms that are easily understood by non-technical audiences
  • Project management skills and ability to create and manage others executing to a project plan and agile practices (such as scrum, Kanban) based on the project model
  • Ability to meet deadlines, to conduct and direct research into issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively with different teams to gain respect, and to build consensus with superiors, peers, subordinates, and contributors both directly and in a matrix environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Test Manager certification
  • Understanding of SharePoint applications, Webex, Skype, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Understanding of latest AI trends and conceptual implementation of these technologies
  • Proficient in data analytics tools (such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Cognos Analytics)
