DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in welding, brazing, and cutting both ferrous and non-ferrous metals to execute a variety of projects related to machinery and equipment. This includes tasks ranging from constructing fences and highway bridges to working on engines and utility distribution systems. Your duties will require you to apply independent judgment in selecting appropriate work methods and procedures, effectively prioritize tasks, and collaborate with your supervisor to determine whether to handle projects internally or outsource them. This decision-making process is crucial for ensuring that our equipment is utilized in the most efficient and productive manner possible. Additionally, you will be expected to stay updated on the latest techniques, materials, tools, and best practices within the welding trade, while also adhering to sound environmental and safety protocols. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have experience with using, operating and maintaining Mig Welder, Spool Gun, Oxy-Acetylene Torch and Plasma Cutter.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
