DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform various tasks in the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment. Your work will involve repairing doors and furniture, operating power and hand tools, installing electric circuits, and repairing plumbing fixtures. You will make repairs to heating lines, as well as repair and maintain air conditioning and heating units. Some of your duties will also include repairing cooking equipment, making repairs to roofs, and maintaining equipment. Additionally, you will perform landscaping duties and help with the snow removal process in the winter months. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness and ability to work in Philadelphia County
- Formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience in the commercial carpentry trade
- Experience in the electrical trade
- Experience in the plumbing trade
- Experience working with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
- Experience working with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings
- Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
- Experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings on or off a long-term care facility
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
