Opportunity Details:

  • Performs a wide range of surgeries, such as removing impacted teeth, correcting jaw misalignment (orthognathic surgery), repairing facial fractures, and removing tumors or cysts from the oral and maxillofacial regions.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and defects through both surgical and adjunctive management. This includes conditions like cleft lip and palate, temporomandibular joint (TMJ disorders, and sleep apnea.
  • Performs reconstructive surgery to restore function and appearance after injury or illness and may also perform minor cosmetic procedures.
  • Provides pre-operative diagnosis and post-operative care and instructions and maintains accurate patient records.
  • Administers various types of anesthesia including moderate sedation, deep sedation and/or general anesthesia as needed for procedures.
  • Completes dentoalveolar surgery, including simple surgical and complex exodontia, pre-prosthetic surgery, bone grafting, sinus and ridge augmentation, vestibuloplasty and implant placement procedures.
  • Provides guidance and participates in the teaching of house staff, in staff conferences, and in research projects, as directed.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program or deemed equivalent.
  • Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental school or deemed equivalent.
  • Valid license to practice Dentistry in New York State.
  • Valid license to practice Dental Anesthesia in New York State.
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Current Board Certification (preferred) or Board Eligibility with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $175,875* (board eligible); $181,125* (board certified) based on 21-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $269,982** (board eligible) and $275,757** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $21,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
