Playing a vital role in the medical school's academic group practice, the Department of Internal Medicine consists of a central administrative unit, four divisions (Division of Medical Education, Division of Research, Division of Clinical Services, and Division of Faculty/Academic Affairs) and several subspecialties. The primary roles of education (students, residents, fellows and continuing medical education), clinical services (primary care, tertiary care, prevention, intensive care and long-term care), research (basic bench research, clinical trials and health systems), academic affairs/faculty development, and administration (finance and support services) are supported/serviced through the operational divisions. |
