What this job involves:

The Security Hardware/Access Control Technician is an entry-level technical role that provides critical security infrastructure support for JLL's client operations in Anaheim, CA. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with preventive maintenance responsibilities, ensuring all security access control hardware operates at peak performance across client properties. You'll develop specialized knowledge in electronic security systems while contributing to JLL's commitment to providing safe, secure environments for our clients. This role offers excellent growth potential with comprehensive training opportunities, including company-provided Lenel Certification, and the chance to build expertise in cutting-edge security technology. After completing onboarding (6-12 months), this position transitions to graveyard/3rd shift operations, providing unique career development in 24/7 security operations.

What your day-to-day will look like:

* Perform routine repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on diverse security devices including access control systems, electrified door hardware, electronic key boxes, and associated electronics

* Respond promptly to repair requests and security concerns by diagnosing issues through professional questioning, on-site visits, and appropriate troubleshooting techniques using specialized test equipment

* Track and manage work orders using systematic documentation including date, time, contact information, location, issue status, actions taken, and resolution details

* Coordinate materials, tools, test equipment, and resources required for effective repairs while maintaining appropriate spare equipment and hardware inventory

* Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and documentation to determine proper repair procedures and troubleshooting approaches

* Create and update technical documentation, procedures, and reports while immediately reporting safety concerns that cannot be mitigated

* Provide emergency response support and weekend/holiday coverage as required to maintain continuous security operations

Required Qualifications:

* Age 18 years or older with strong technical acumen and electronics troubleshooting skills

* Valid California Driver's License or equivalent with ability to travel between client properties

* Ability to work effectively in both structured and unstructured environments as a self-starter with strict attention to detail

* Strong electronic communication skills for coordinating with team members, managers, JLL employees, vendors, and clients

* Familiarity with general electrical and electronics safety procedures and protocols

* Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, manage time effectively, and work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities

* Professional appearance and demeanor with strong teamwork mentality and collaborative approach

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience with security systems, access control hardware, or electronic troubleshooting

* Basic knowledge of 12v/24v electrical systems and electronic door hardware components

* Experience with work order management systems and technical documentation

* Understanding of preventive maintenance principles and inventory management

* Ability to learn new hardware and software systems quickly

* Experience working in commercial or industrial environments

* Commitment to obtaining Lenel Certification within first 3 years of employment (company-provided training available)

Location: Anaheim, CA

Work Shift: This position will support graveyard/ 3rd shift once onboarding is complete (6 months - 12 months depending on experience). Schedule during onboarding period will be Monday - Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Then transitioning to graveyard/3rd shift operations with weekend/holiday coverage as required

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

56,160.00 - 56,160.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
