Job Overview:

Put your hands-on Quality Technician experience to work with Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in industrial innovation. We're seeking a skilled Quality Technician to support our IRP, MP Pump, and Oberdorfer Pump (MPOB) Business Unit, contributing directly to product excellence and continuous improvement. In this role, you'll use your practical manufacturing experience and strong working knowledge of quality processes to drive high-standard outcomes. Your ability to operate a CMM and run existing programs, combined with experience in gauging, calibration, and evaluation techniques, will be key to maintaining world-class quality. Exposure to PPAP documentation and a general familiarity with ISO procedures will set you up for success. Responsibilities:

  • Participate in internal and external audits, including ISO certification, customer audits, and project-specific quality requirements.
  • Help maintain and execute internal gauge calibration programs and monitor metrology lab efficiency.
  • Support inspection, testing, and recording for product development projects.
  • Drive supplier continuous improvement
    through problem-solving, Root Cause & Corrective Actions, and report card communication.

  • Train team members in problem-solving techniques and quality processes, including SWI and 5 Whys.
  • Model conscious leadership and apply company values in daily work and continuous improvement
    activities.

  • Monitor supplier and finished goods quality performance, track costs of inferior quality, and implement corrective actions.


Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management, including quality processes, inspection methods, and evaluation techniques.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment using precision measuring tools such as optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, microscopes, and other inspection devices.
  • 2+ years of experience operating a CMM, including executing existing programs
  • 2+ years of experience with PPAP documentation and submission processes, with working knowledge of ISO procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience applying problem-solving and facilitation skills to identify root causes and drive effective resolutions.

  • Adaptability: Remains flexible in changing environments, adjusting priorities based on evolving needs, quality findings, and business objectives.
  • Technical Savvy: Quickly learns new systems and product details, demonstrating an aptitude for understanding complex equipment, processes, and operational

    requirements.



Preferences:


  • Basic understanding of assembly methods.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints and other documents that define product specification.
  • Basic understanding of root cause analysis (5W1H, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
  • ISO Internal Audit


Travel and Work Arrangements


  • This position is fully based onsite in Alsip, Il
  • Anticipated travel is under 5%


Pay Range: The base pay range for this role is $65,000 - $95,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
