About This Role
The Animal Sciences & Industry Department houses the largest undergraduate degree program at Kansas State University in combination with a robust extension program across most primary disciplines and species/products in animal sciences. We are seeking applicants for a 12-month, tenure-track position (50% Teaching & 50% Extension). The position will be at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor (commensurate with experience) and located in Manhattan, KS. The successful individual will contribute primarily to the department's land-grant missions associated with undergraduate teaching and extension programming. Expertise in swine nutrition and management is desired. The successful individual is expected to collaborate in scholarly activities with members of the K-State Applied Swine Nutrition Team. Teaching will focus on undergraduate Swine Science and Swine Nutrition, both on-campus and online, and other determined courses based on expertise and departmental need. Mentorship of undergraduate students and service in student clubs and activities are required. The successful individual is expected to develop an innovative and impactful extension program addressing issues facing the Kansas and U.S. swine industry. The Dept. of ASI prepares students for careers in the animal and food industries. Worksite Description This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications: * Ph.D. degree (at time of employment) with emphasis in applied swine activities Preferred Qualifications: * In-depth knowledge and practical experience with swine production.
