Responsibilities

Lead Tech - Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing daily operations of pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, managing oversight of the automated dispensing cabinets, and managing procurement activities for the pharmacy department. The Pharmacy Lead Technician may staff on occasion as needed to serve the needs of the department.


Qualifications

Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved Pharmacy Technician school or equivalent work experience required.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience, including leadership and purchasing responsibilities.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including Automated Dispensing Cabinet optimization and administrative and reporting functions
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy inventory systems, including management and sourcing of medication supplies and non-medication department supplies.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and IV room sterile compounding, USP 797, and USP 800.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software, electronic health records (i.e. Cerner) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to support and motivate a team and lead technician team meetings.

License / Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified, active Florida Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.

Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026!

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics, Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.
