How You'll Make an Impact

Treasury Management
  • Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of all company bank accounts, including high volumes of POS cash and credit card transactions as well as deposits from third parties.
  • Ensure all outgoing cash and ACH payments are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Partner closely with Sales Audit and Accounts Payable to investigate discrepancies and resolve differences.


Tax Compliance
  • Compile data from multiple sources and prepare monthly sales and use tax returns.
  • Coordinate the payment of weekly sales tax deposits with state tax authorities.
  • Monitor sales tax rate and exemption changes and partner with IT to update POS systems.


Month-End Close
  • Prepare and post a variety of journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and recurring entries.
  • Record all bank and credit card processing fees and interest transactions.
  • Responsible for accounting of all third-party grocery delivery services including cash deposits, sales adjustments, and related accruals.
  • Reconcile key high-risk receivable and accrual accounts to ensure Balance Sheet accuracy and assist with variance analysis.
  • Review various Income Statement expense lines and provide variance explanations for financial summaries.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports, including allocations, roll forwards, and tie-outs.


About You
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience; CPA or MBA a plus
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of GAAP, including debit/credit accounting, complex reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Experience with general ledger systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a sense of urgency
  • Self-starter who functions well with minimal supervision
  • Ability to independently identify opportunities to automate accounting tasks, improve existing processes, and enhance accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to confidently interact with various individuals throughout the department and company
  • Strict attention to detail, highly organized, and able to complete time-sensitive tasks effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and function as a team player
