Peraton is seeking a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer to join our high-impact Cyber Missions team in Laurel, MD. What You'll Do
As a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer, you will:
Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events across enterprise systems and networks, identifying threats and vulnerabilities under general supervision.
Support integrated, dynamic cyber defense operations, maintaining and coordinating security toolsets that enable continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs. Develop frameworks to measure and quantify cyber risk, helping organizations understand their security posture in real-world, mission-focused terms. Determine security requirements by evaluating business needs, researching standards, conducting system and vulnerability assessments, analyzing architectures, identifying integration issues, and preparing cost estimates. Implement advanced security systems, including intrusion detection methodologies, hardware/software installation and calibration, key management, technical support, and documentation. Verify and validate security solutions by developing and executing test scripts to ensure system integrity. Strengthen enterprise security posture by monitoring compliance with policies and standards, conducting incident response analysis, and developing and delivering security training programs. Design, develop, integrate, and implement DoD IA architectures across computing, network, and enclave environments. Ensure secure, mission-ready system architectures, including program-of-record systems and specialized processing nodes requiring platform IT interconnectivity.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications Required:
- Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- TS/SCI with poly
- Experience providing:
- Technical direction for the development
- Engineering, interfacing, integration and testing of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting system requirements reviews
- Developing concepts of operation and interface standards
- Developing system architectures
- Performing technical/nontechnical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis
- Developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.
- Developing technical documentation for issues and/or training

Target Salary Range
$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
