Job Location Duke Raleigh Hospital Job Summary The Emergency Room Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the ER team and his/her primary responsibility is the management of acutely ill and/or injured patients in the emergency room setting. The ER APP is under the direct supervision of the ER supervising physician or designated back-up physicians. The APP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services in the Emergency Department. The APP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and provides leadership to the organization and to the APP profession. Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Job Eligibility Requirements Education PA: Graduate of accredited Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree Physician Assistant program NP Graduate of accredited MSN or DNP Nurse Practitioner's Program to treat all ages (i.e., FNP, ENP) License PA: Unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB with authorization to practice as a Physician Assistant NP: Unrestricted RN license issued by or recognized by the NCBON with authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner Certification PA: PA-C NP: NP certification to treat all ages, e.g., FNP or ENP. Must acquire ENP certification within 12-18 months if currently a FNP only. Experience PA: Emergency Medicine experience strongly preferred, but will consider new grad with relevant experience such as EMS/Paramedic RN: Emergency Medicine NP experience strongly preferred, but will also consider new grad NP with 3 years Emergency Medicine RN experience and/or EMS/Paramedic/Medic experience. Job Hours Full Time - x16 ten hour shifts/month. Rotating days, nights, and weekends.
