The Role This is a critical internal role in shaping how Splunk Services executes, measures success, and continuously improves. The Business Operations Manager is expected to think strategically, operate proactively, and lead initiatives that increase efficiency, predictability, and organizational maturity. Responsibilities include: Project & Task Tracking Update internal systems, task trackers, and project boards to ensure accurate visibility across teams. Document all process flows and tools. Support internal project kickoff preparation (no customer-facing responsibilities). Consolidate updates from engineering and project management to help Operations maintain internal alignment and visibility. Future-Focused Operational Growth Help drive the evolution of Splunk Services Practice, helping establish scalable processes as the team grows. Participate in internal operational initiatives such as workflow automation pilots and AI-assisted process improvements. Assist the SSP VP in the design and roll-out of the Delivery Framework (aka Developer Toolkits) using SharePoint of other more developer friendly tools, such as Git. Operational Strategy & Leadership Serve as a strategic advisor to Splunk Services leadership on operational performance, capacity, and delivery readiness. Translate business priorities into operational plans, scalable workflows, and measurable outcomes. Lead cross-functional initiatives that streamline work across Customer Success, PMO, and Engineering. Resource & Capacity Management Own the internal customer resource assignment process, aligning engineering and delivery resources to incoming work based on skillset, urgency, and availability. Develop and maintain capacity forecasting models to support staffing decisions and workload distribution. Identify early indicators of resource constraints and provide proactive recommendations to leadership. Process Optimization & Standardization Build, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across CS operations. Evaluate operational processes end-to-end and drive improvements to reduce friction and improve delivery consistency. Establish repeatable, scalable workflows to support organizational growth. AI-Driven Workflow Automation Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to streamline operational tasks, enhance documentation, and improve reporting. Lead pilots and implement AI tools that produce measurable efficiency gains. Program Governance & Cross-Functional Alignment Create and manage frameworks for project intake, prioritization, and internal handoffs. Partner with the PMO to ensure alignment on project timelines, statuses, and operational standards. Provide governance and oversight for complex, multi-team programs. Data, Reporting & Insights Build operational dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into delivery health, backlog, and resource utilization. Synthesize data into insights and recommendations for CS and business leadership. Regularly analyze trends to drive improvements in staffing, delivery, tooling, and operational decision-making.
