Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $85,600 - $113,420. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Project Engineer (Facilities/Equipment)!

In this job you will work on a variety of production equipment along with process systems controlled by programmable logic controllers used in our manufacturing facility that are tied to the S&C network for data collection purposes. This work includes working with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and other maintenance tasks related to the support of a wide variety production, process and production support equipment and chemical distribution systems. The Project Engineer performs maintenance tasks utilizing equipment manuals, assembly drawings, and electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing electronic engineering and software programming for manufacturing process automation.
  • Connecting automation and CNC equipment to networked data collection system.
  • Developing and maintaining human-machine interface (HMI) software for manufacturing process automation and test automation.
  • Developing and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) software for manufacturing process control and test equipment. Evaluate and specify electronic sensors for manufacturing process data acquisition; oversee sensor installation and startup.
  • Assist maintenance staff with training and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Responsible for training factory and support staff on implemented equipment and technology.
  • Work with Lean and manufacturing engineers on production line improvements.
  • Lead person for updating facilities process and manufacturing data recording and retrieval processes.
  • Developing and supporting automation initiatives within manufacturing facilities maintenance group.
  • Assist with integration and programming of robotics and automation projects provided by third parties.
  • Develop and implement automation and integration methods that improve operations.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree required (prefer BSEE or BSCS)
  • Experience in writing PLC codes for Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, GE, and other industry standard PLC platforms.
  • Experience in writing HMI code using Wonderware, FactoryTalk View ME/SE, RSView, and other industry standard graphical interfaces.
  • Project Management capabilities.
  • 3+ years of experience working with low to medium volume assembly process improvements
  • Experience with quality improvement implementation.
  • Ability to demonstrated problem solving and team facilitating skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge base of motors, drives and PLCs
  • 3+ years experience with HMI and PLC ladder logic
  • Experience with industrial process sensors and controls
