Qualifications and Skills

Earn a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited college of podiatric medicine (a 4-year program after undergraduate studies).

Complete a 3-year residency program in podiatric medicine and surgery.

Pass the necessary state licensing exams, such as parts of the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Exam (APMLE).
