Moog Space and Defense Groupis looking for a Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer,to perform the conceptual design, analysis, development and testing of complex flight controls systems used on NASA, military, and commercial applications. You'll be responsible for the development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical and electropneumatic hardware control systems and power sources. This position requires a high degree of foresight and creativity to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems.

Minimum Qualifications to be considered...

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years' relevant technical experience OR Master of Science Degree in Engineering with 8 Years' relevant technical experience.
  • Must have structural or thermal analysis experience on high performance mechanical products.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), particularly with ANSYS, highly preferred.
  • Prepare successful proposal designs and concepts, along with cost and schedule estimates.
  • Experience designing from requirements
  • Experience working with technicians, vendors and manufacturers
  • Familiarity with CAD (NX preferred), FEA (ANSYS), and systems modeling software (Simscape, Simulink)
  • Familiarity with Qualification, Safety of Flight and Acceptance testing procedures and criteria
  • Familiarity with Military / Aerospace programs and products

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will...

  • Have a firm understanding of the Moog Military Aircraft Common Development Process, executing in all phases, from Bid and Proposal, through design reviews, procurement and into build and integration
  • Support generation of requirements that will ultimately be designed to
  • Initiate and carry out design and analyses of complex hydromechanical test systems that comply with generated requirements
  • Interact with technicians and Assembly and Test employees in a lab or shop environment
  • Be considered a technical expert, leading or mentoring other engineers on the team
  • Be expected to make independent and unreviewed decisions on most technical matters
  • Participate in design for manufacturing
  • Be the technical point of contact for customer, program and vendors
  • Be involved with testing of hydraulic pumps, motors, as well as hydraulic and electrohydrostatic actuators (EHA)

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $90,227.00-$141,458.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
