Our SDG site in Niagara Falls, NY is eagerly looking to welcome a skilled Manufacturing Manager to oversee our Assembly and Test group. You will join our Operations team and manage (directly and indirectly) a team of approximately 30 Assembly and Test Technicians, ensuring that customer delivery and quality expectations are met for the end customer. You will manage process, resources, budgets and assets while coordinating process improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will enjoy an on-site, collaborative work environment with typical hours being M-F from 7am - 3pm.

As our Manufacturing Manager - Assembly & Test, you will make critical impact by holding the following responsibilities:

  • Process Management: Lead team activities, monitoring performance metrics and balancing headcount vs. workload to achieve optimum process efficiencies. Work within the confines of capital and expense budgets to maximize capabilities and meet performance objectives. This includes being proactive in identifying issues and problems and initiating process improvement projects or alternative directions to minimize potential impacts.

  • Tactical Planning: Develop effective, strategic plans to achieve objectives.

  • Leadership/Personnel Development: Lead, motivate and direct the Assembly and Test team in achieving objectives. Ensure the advancement of technical knowledge & skills within the sub-process. Provide employee and team performance feedback for immediate recognition and for ongoing performance conversations. Assist in planning for and developing the skill base and knowledge necessary to build a broadly flexible workforce necessary to perform process-based work.

  • Team Building: Foster an environment of mutual trust & support between team members by encouraging employee participation and building team unity. Provide immediate feedback on performance, roles and responsibilities of team members. Ensures team goals are clear and utilizes facilitative leadership skills to effectively deal with daily issues. Encourage knowledge sharing across functional teams and sub-processes.

  • Resource Allocation and Use: Coordinate personnel move(s), facilities and equipment utilization, determine team size and make-up and define resource needs on a daily basis.

  • Multi-tasking Moxie:Deal with multiple complex issues of varying degrees of difficulty simultaneously while maintaining a positive outlook. Creative and resourceful in resolving problems and effectively uses influence and persuasion to engage others in support of accomplishing goals.

  • Administration & Safety: Set guidelines for team and process operation. Proactively search out safety concerns and implement corrective actions to assure a safe working environment in and around the sub-process boundaries.

In order to be considered for the Manufacturing Manager - Assembly & Test role, you will need to bring with you, the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related technical discipline

  • 7+ years of work experience in a Manufacturing Assembly and Test environment

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-based skills; ability to influence and communicate with all levels of the organization

  • This position requires a full physical which includes bloodwork and Pulmonary Function testing.

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Experience within the Aerospace industry

  • Experience implementing and managing Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office programs

  • Proven track record delivering process improvement results

Salary Range Transparency:

Niagara Falls, NY $100,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
