The Senior Telecom Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, acquisition, and implementation of Mercy's voice and data network services. This position evaluates business requirements to develop effective solutions, performs cost analysis, and conducts vendor comparisons. The Senior Network Specialist manages infrastructure to ensure network availability, performance, and integrity, while supporting and enhancing existing systems and deploying new network services.

Voice Network Design and Implementation:

  • Design and implement voice network configurations and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Perform traffic analysis to determine optimal system configurations.
  • Lead deployment efforts for intermediate projects, ensuring seamless integration.

Voice Network Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure voice network security and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of voice network hardware and software.

Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor voice network performance and proactively address issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve voice network problems independently, using standard analytical tools.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Collaborate with IT teams and business partners to address voice networking needs.
  • Provide advanced customer support and mentor less experienced IT professionals.

Project Management:

  • Assist project managers in developing work estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Review project deliverables for accuracy and provide guidance to team members.

Qualification(s):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience:
    * Relevant technical experience in network engineering.
    * Proficiency in Cisco voice networking technologies, LAN/WAN, wireless, and VoIP.
