Brief Description: The HSE Systems Analyst is responsible for administration, oversight, growth, and management of HSE systems. In addition, the HSE Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting achievement of HSE continual improvement objectives. Primary responsibilities also include integration of analytics objectives within current (and in development) systems, as well as identification and analysis of key HSE statistics, performance indicators, and emerging trends. Consults and communicates with HSE leadership and other organizational stakeholders to identify focus area trends and ensures overall health of data capture systems. Possesses and maintains a broad understanding of HSE-related regulations and reference standards, along with the ability to research, outline, and summarize upcoming or newly rolled out reporting requirements.
- Detailed Responsibilities:
* Act as a Company-wide resource and subject matter expert for HSE systems and metrics. * Lead analysis, dashboard, and report development for HSE systems (monthly and ad hoc reporting). * Ability to conduct thorough analysis to identify area(s) of concern or emerging trends, integrating HSE metrics with other Company metrics (HR, operations, IT, etc.). * Focus on continual improvement opportunities and identification of areas of concern, deploy detailed strategy for improvement (including liaising with various Company-departments and key stakeholders), and ensure successful rollout of process improvements. * Assist in maintaining and updating systems utilized for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking, and reporting HSE performance. * Support HSE system improvement efforts and ensure data capture functionality is successfully embedded / deployed to assist in overarching HSE and compliance data analysis efforts. * Support the implementation and achievement of HSE objectives and performance goals. * Develop and maintain HSE systems training content and supporting documentation. * Facilitate HSE system training in classroom setting. - Job Requirements:
* Core foundational knowledge of HSE metrics and regulatory process requirements. * Establish and maintain workflow processes and permissions within systems. * Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage audiences. * Technical and operational proficiency to identify areas of concern and opportunities for continuous improvement based on the data analysis. * Proficiency with software programs, including but not limited to MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate, etc.). * Ability to travel to remote drilling rig work sites with the capability of overnight stay(s). * Ability to safely navigate drilling rig work sites, including but not limited to, walking, stepping, climbing, standing, bending, and kneeling during normal rig operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather). * Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). - Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree * Two years' experience in the oil and gas industry, with experience in an HSE support role including strong understanding of related regulatory frameworks and requirements. * Depth of knowledge regarding HSE systems (e.g., Incident Management System, Audits, Reporting, Management of Change, Work Permitting) * Proven track record of project and personnel management including continual improvement and business optimization / efficiency tools. - Preferred Requirements:
* Four years' experience in the oil and gas industry, with experience in an HSE systems analyst role including strong understanding of system frameworks and requirements. * Minimum of one year experience with system integration / data analysis / management in the oil and gas industry or equivalent.
Additional Details: This position requires the person to work primarily in an office environment with periodic visits to field locations in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The HSE Systems and Compliance Data Analyst must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. They must be able to work closely with all levels of management and under time-sensitive deadlines to complete job assignments. They must be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days; and occasionally nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
