Description
The Pilot in Command reports to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned. When assigned to a flight, the PIC has full responsibility and final authority for all matters concerning the operation of aircraft during flight. All MDU Resources employees are responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in their day-to-day work routines for themselves and others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Hold a FAA Airplane Multiengine Land Commercial Privileges Certificate - Airplane Multiengine Land & Instrument.
  • Have logged a minimum of 2,500 flight hours.

    • 1500 hours in multi-engine airplanes.
    • 500 hours turbine.


  • Hold a second-class medical certificate.
  • Ability to complete aircraft initial qualification & type rating requirements in Company aircraft.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Required to maintain a valid driver's license.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensures the final airworthiness of the aircraft.
  • Study weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports, and departure points, applicable NOTAMS, and TFRs.
  • Calculate and review the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board, and performance data.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and foreign regulations as well as policies and procedures specified in the company operations manual.
  • Make decisions necessary to start, delay or cancel the flight or deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
