Lead product component designs and development for meter components. Create and monitor test plans to validate new designs and suppliers. Develop ways to test new product functionality and ensure product requirements are met. Resolve manufacturing issues. Working on multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI) projects within the North American gas metering industry, focusing on innovation, safety, reliability, and sustainability. Contribute to the development of the Intelis ultrasonic gas meter by integrating advanced ultrasonic technology, enhancing accuracy and reliability. Spearhead the selection and integration of a hydrogen-compatible pressure sensor solution, ensuring performance and safety while projected annual savings of approximately $2 million. Conduct comprehensive testing and validation processes to meet rigorous safety regulations and exceed customer specifications for gas metering. Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, and suppliers to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge materials and technologies, optimizing product performance, durability, and operational efficiency. Provide decisive technical leadership and customer support throughout the entire product lifecycle, from development through end-of-life, successfully resolving complex engineering challenges and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Standardize meter designs across North America (NAM) and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) markets, reducing costs and enhancing supplier relationships. Define precise product specifications and aligned strategic roadmaps with evolving market trends and dynamic customer requirements. Respond to product requirements by investigating, specifying, and validating mechanical designs for solid-state gas meters. Troubleshoot and correct issues with existing production, ensuring continuous operational efficiency and product quality. Engage in development activities in the areas of aluminum casting, metrology performance, design for manufacturability, and pressure sensing. Position is fixed location based in West Union, SC office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role. Will accept a Master's degree plus two (2) years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
