The Broward County Aviation Department (Aviation Department) which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and North Perry Airport is seeking an Enterprise Director of Business. The Enterprise Director of Business & Properties is a member of the Broward County Aviation Department's (BCAD) Senior Team and will report to the Chief Financial Officer or his designee. This position oversees professional and administrative work in planning, negotiating, organizing and directing aviation business development activities including implementing and administering programs to achieve sustained revenue growth, attract, retain and expand aviation, non-aviation, and concessions businesses that support the County's Aviation Department. The position is responsible for the administration and direction of multiple revenue generating activities for BCAD including Concessions, Real Estate, General Aviation and Rental Cars. The position manages a total staff of approximately 13 individuals, which includes the Assistant Enterprise Director of Business (Concessions), the Senior Business Development Manager (Real Estate), 3 Airport Property Managers, and the airport's Rental Car Manager.
All Aviation Department employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public, Airport vendors, contractors, and fellow employees to maintain a professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive-level administrators through conferences and reports.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in
Business, Public Administration, Economics, Finance, Aviation
Requires (6) years progressively responsible experience in business and financial planning and negotiating based on the area of assignment including four (4) years of supervisory experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
- Possess and maintain a Florida E Class Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for the duration of appointment.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Airport security & customs badging.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain airfield driving privileges.
Preferences
- Graduate Degree in Business, Public Administration, Economics, Finance, Aviation or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of modern airport financial management principles and practices
- Ten (10) or more years of progressive aviation related commercial or business development experience
