Provides technical leadership to cross-functional teams, driving collaborative design strategies across components and systems, ensuring consistent application of design rules and best practices. Supports the development of organizational technical know-how, contributes to technical policy and roadmap definition, and ensures alignment with program goals and corporate standards.



  • Execute robust, high-quality, cost- and weight-efficient designs to ensure successful program launches.
  • Lead standardization, re-use, harmonization, benchmarking, and lessons learned activities within the domain.
  • Ensure consistent application of corporate technical best practices across all components and systems.
  • Support the development of core technical documents, test plans, and technical descriptions for cost roll-ups and value optimization studies.
  • Support the Development Team in:


    • the physical and functional integration of interior plastic components throughout all phases of the vehicle program development
    • Plan and translate functional objectives into technical requirements and solutions
    • Analyze alternative design concepts, packaging, and integrate system and components
    • Benchmark competitive vehicles
    • Innovation and implementation strategies.
    • Recognize and enforce Lesson's Learned from Global Programs
    • Supplier Capability Assessment Audits.
    • Methods, processes, and tools strategies.



  • Provide technical expertise to Project Teams for:


    • Developing technical solutions.
    • Supplier coordination.
    • Ensuring part quality during builds.
    • Build process development.
    • Root-cause analysis and issue resolution.
    • Managing technical integrity during changes.



  • Lead product diversity definition in alignment with KPI requirements, in collaboration with Vehicle Program, Product Planning, Brand, and Suppliers.
  • Support the development of Source Packages.
  • Support Fellows in developing and maintaining:


    • Technical policies.
    • Roadmaps.
    • Training materials.



  • Ensure compliance with Internal Control System regulations within the scope of responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the design, release and launch of automotive Interior Plastic Components
  • Understanding of Injection Molding requirements, including part design feasibility and tooling requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to travel to various US, Canada and Mexico based plants on a regular basis
  • Ability to work & lead in a team environment
