Position Summary:
The PET Tech Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the strategic objectives of the PET program while managing daily operations across PET sites of service. This leadership role combines program development, operational oversight, and technical expertise to ensure quality, compliance, and an outstanding patient experience. The manager provides direction to program staff and PET technologists, supervises clinical and technical operations, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary Range: $115,000-$135,000

Responsibilities

Strategic Program Leadership

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision and long-term goals for the PET program aligned with physician expectations, organizational objectives, and market demands.
  • Collect and analyze clinical performance and productivity data; recommend business solutions and strategic adjustments.
  • Monitor program budgets, spending, and resource allocation.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and streamline business processes for efficiency and compliance.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee daily operations at PET sites, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to protocols.
  • Coordinate scheduling and patient-flow activities to optimize patient experience and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program growth and service excellence.

Technical and Clinical Leadership

  • Maintain clinical competencies in all PET scan procedures, including radiopharmaceutical injection, protocol setup, image reconstruction, and database management.
  • Develop and maintain PET policy manuals and procedure protocols; ensure compliance with state licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure operational readiness.

Staff Supervision and Development

  • Provide oversight and accountability for program staff, PET technologists, and RN team members.
  • Train new technologists and staff; develop PET teaching resources and case files.
  • Hold staff accountable for achieving performance, quality, and compliance objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate patient record keeping and timely billing processes.
  • Assist in developing educational and marketing materials for the PET program.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in Nuclear Medical Technology, including at least 3 years directly related to PET Technology. Previous supervisory experience required.

Certification: CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) required.

Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and drive program success.
