Description

This remote position is based in Atlanta, GA, with frequent travel (at least 60%) to client sites for on-site assessments, plan development, and routine inspections. This position is responsible for conducting thorough on-site assessments at client facilities to evaluate compliance and gather accurate data needed for compliance plan development, including but not limited to SPCC, SWPPP, Contingency Plans, Waste Management Plans, etc. This position will also assist in creating, updating, and implementing site-specific SPCC and SWPPP plans that meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Provide a timely, thorough peer review of environmental compliance plans.
  • Provide technical support to clients in understanding and meeting environmental compliance obligations in all medias including air, water, and waste.
  • Assist clients with navigating regulations under 40 CFR 112 (SPCC), state stormwater permits, and other relevant environmental regulations.
  • Conduct training sessions on compliance requirements and BMPs for client staff as needed.
  • Conduct periodic audits and inspections of client sites to assess environmental compliance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in preparing inspection reports, checklists, maps, and other documentation to track compliance activities and corrective measures.
  • Gather and analyze environmental data to support compliance reporting.
  • Use field tools and technology to gather data collection and improve the accuracy of compliance documentation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to self-manage
  • Willingness to travel at least 60% to client sites nationwide, sometimes on short notice.
  • Overnight and day travel driving to and from industrial client sites in a company truck is required.
  • Occasional travel by plane to different areas of the country required.
  • Work on-site includes walking long distances outside in the elements which can include heat, humidity, rain, cold, or snow; climbing stairs and/or ladders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and consulting skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and develop practical solutions.


PAY RATE:

$55,000-65,000/ANNUALLY

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in environmental science or consulting.


Physical Requirements:



  • Frequent walking, standing, and bending during fieldwork
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time
  • Capable of wearing PPE
  • Tolerance to work in various weather conditions and terrains
  • Approximately 20% fieldwork and travel, 80% office or remote work depending on project needs
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and environmental hazards
  • Travel required to project sites, sometimes overnight (up to 20%)
