Position Summary
The Research Associate will work in the Institute of Global Health and Infectious Diseases in the laboratory of Dr. Archin. Archin's lab focuses on HIV latency and performs a mix of basic science and translational clinical research. This position is essential to advancing research in the laboratory. Work requires knowledge of applicable laboratory procedures, tests, techniques, and terminology. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to: conducting experiments, collecting data, and data analysis. Presenting data at local, national, and international conferences, and the ability to write and publish manuscripts, and formulate grant proposals to seek external research funding.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity or professional-level institutional planning/assessment experience, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in HIV Latency Research.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working with HIV and other sexually transmitted pathogens and knowledge of standard laboratory practices for work under BSL-2 conditions.
Prior knowledge of cell culture, sample preparation, and analysis by multi-color flow cytometry is preferred.
Prefer candidates with strong nucleic acid isolation experience and extensive experience in PCR assay setup and analysis.
