Job Summary

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician II is a mid-level technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems with moderate complexity. This role works independently on standard service calls while supporting senior technicians on larger or more complex systems. The Technician II is expected to demonstrate strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety and customer service.


Essential Duties

  • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment including:

    • RTUs, split systems, and packaged units

    • VAV boxes, exhaust systems, and makeup air units

  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues up to 480V (with guidance as needed)

  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend repairs or upgrades

  • Assist with equipment startups and commissioning

  • Work independently on routine service calls and PM routes

  • Accurately complete service tickets and documentation in a timely manner

  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams

  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA standards

  • Participate in on-call rotation as required


Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
  • Solid understanding of HVAC fundamentals and controls
  • EPA Universal Certification (required)
  • Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
