Lab Technician II, Easton, PA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides assistance to Scientists in developing new technologies, formulations, and processes. Makes bench formulations, conduct technical performance and product testing, gathers experimental results and analyzes documents, and reports data. Works on line extension projects with minimal supervision. Leads efforts in good lab practices and maintains appropriate technical documentation. Active member of the lab safety committee.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provides technical support to scientists in developing formulations.
  • Formulates line/color extensions with minimal supervisory direction.
  • Runs experiments, generates data, analyzes and reports results.
  • Prioritizes work to ensure timelines are met
  • Records all relevant information in lab note books. Ensures books are kept updated with experimental information.
  • Generates lab reports on testing conducted.
  • Sets up, maintains, and operates equipment necessary for product development and qualification.
  • Orders new raw materials and maintains lab and raw material supplies.
  • Ensures all lab safety and EHS regulations are met. This includes proper documentation, housekeeping and following safe lab practices.
  • Coordinates testing schedules, generates samples and shares results with Product safety and Regulatory group.
  • Member of Lab Safety Committee. Conducts safety audits and reports results.
  • Utilizes all necessary online resources including SAP, MSDS and Specification databases.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • High School Degree. College level courses in physical sciences preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' work in a consumer goods/industrial lab setting.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of consumer product technologies such as paints, inks, coatings, and waxes.
