GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing the highest level of recruitment and staffing services to Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) leaders by delivering top nursing talent. Recruits potential candidates for nursing positions, screens and interviews applicants to determine preferences, limitations and qualifications. Refers qualified applicants to appropriate hiring authority. Coordinates internal movement of nursing employees. Maintains excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates and the community at-large.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops logistics and methodologies for nurse recruiter functions.
  • Consults and partners with hiring leadership to identify specific staffing needs through conducting an intake for each job search.
  • Works with Leadership and HR Business Partners to develop and implement staffing plans.
  • Provides complete, accurate and inspiring information to candidates about HFHS and position. Prepares candidate for interviewing with specific hiring manager with information on business strategy, department background and expectation setting.
  • Identifies, screens, and hires nursing talent for HFHS.
  • Reviews resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to nursing position requirements and preferences.
  • Reviews the hiring manager interview performance and disposition of candidates.
  • Extends offers of employment to selected candidate in collaboration with the hiring manager and within the guidelines of the compensation guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring managers' interaction, and other recruiting activities to ensure a safe and through audit if required.
  • Performs background checks on nursing candidates.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with leaders, vendors, community organizations and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility.
  • Participates in hiring manager meetings to develop a thorough understanding of the department culture and uses that understanding to help candidates fully understand the opportunity.
  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in recruiting practices.
  • Works with and/or directs the effort of the Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
  • Maintains a database of new nursing talent with referrals.
  • Conducts campus recruitments to hire prospective nurses.
  • Resolves and troubleshoot problems arising in recruiting and hiring nurses.
  • Attends, conducts and organizes recruitment events and job fairs.
  • Promotes employment opportunities in nursing profession through recruitment drives.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications - External

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of recruiting experience required.
  • High volume recruitment experience strongly preferred.
  • Current working experience that includes understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle process (lead generation, managing the internal/external process, extending an offer and closing a candidate).
  • Experience with applicant tracking system.
