Description and Requirements
Role Summary

The Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist oversees daily logistics operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient movement of goods. This role manages shipment planning, carrier coordination, inventory flow, and process improvements while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strong supplier performance. The position partners closely with internal teams, carriers, and external service providers to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the supply chain network.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including inventory management, warehouse coordination, and transportation oversight.
  • Audit and review purchase orders, freight contracts, invoices, and shipping documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, logistics providers, and internal teams (Customer Service, Shipping, Planning) to optimize delivery schedules, fleet utilization, and on-time performance.
  • Plan, track, and manage shipments to ensure timely delivery while maximizing productivity and reducing transportation costs.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate carrier contracts to meet service requirements and secure competitive freight rates.
  • Monitor shipment costs, identify network bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Maintain accurate and complete shipment records, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.
  • Develop, enhance, and standardize processes to improve supply chain visibility, organization, and overall performance.
  • Manage distribution and transportation budgets, ensuring cost control and alignment with business objectives.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, transportation management, or distribution.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, Incoterms, transportation modes, and carrier operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience tracking KPIs, shipment performance, and cost metrics.
  • Proficiency with logistics or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, JDA) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience negotiating freight rates and managing relationships with domestic and international carriers.
  • Familiarity with Lenovo supply chain processes, tools, logistics systems, or similar enterprise environments.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Knowledge of global trade compliance, customs requirements, and import/export procedures.
  • Ability to analyze transportation networks and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
