About the Role AVIAN (pronounced *a-v-yin*) is looking for an Flight Test Engineer/Test Planner employee for the HMX-1/VH-92 program. The candidate will provide technical and analytical support to the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR) Operational Test Coordinator and Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) Chief Operational Test Director in the definition, conduct, and analysis of Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of the VH-92A Presidential helicopter.
Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise on HMX-1 oeprtions, White House Military Operations, and VH-92A Operational Test and integration into Presidential helicopter support operations
- Develops strategies to efficiently support VH-92 Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) to maintain operational effectiveness and suitability and meet all Critical Operational Issues
- Maintain familiarity and currency with program documentation to include Presidential Helicopters Concept of Operations, Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Capability Development Document, Manpower estimate Report and Navy Training Support PLan
- Plans, executes, analyzes, and reports on OT for Follow-on OT&E, Verification of Correction of Deficiencies, and Observations of Developmental Test during VH-92 operational employment sustantment, and upgrades.
- Plans and manages T&E resource requirements to include test sites and instrumentation, simulator support, test support equipment, OPTEVFOR test support, manpower and personnel training, and special requirements.
- Writing Test and Evaluation Management Plans/Master Test & Evaluation Strategy
- Forecast future T&E efforts and reqwuirements based on the VH-92A capabilities roadmap, Operational Advisory Group priorities, and outstanding deficiencies already documented against the VH-92
- Familiarity with Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division structure, flight test requirements, and operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
- At least four years of HMX-1 Presidential helicoper operations experience
- At least 4 years of T&E experience
- At least two years of T&E experience within the last four years with HMX-1
- Previous Operational Test Director experience
- Designated Naval Aviator
- Current within the last three years, working knowledge of the DoD 5000 Series, OPNAVINST 5000.42 Series and SECNAVINST 5000 series
- Must have a current Top Secret clearance with Yankee White access eligibility.
- Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- The salary range for this role is $150,000-$170,000 (The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.)
