We are seeking a highly organized and meticulous compliance professional to play a critical role in ensuring the legal and operational readiness of our advanced vehicle fleet. In this pivotal position, you will own the end-to-end process for vehicle registration, permitting, and ongoing compliance obligations, operating at the vital intersection of legal, operations, engineering, and regulatory affairs. Your work will directly enable the consistent authorization, compliance, and deployment of our autonomous vehicle fleet, driving forward our mission to revolutionize mobility.

You will be instrumental in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, coordinating with diverse internal teams, and maintaining impeccable records to keep our operations running smoothly and legally. **What You'll Do:**

* Manage vehicle registration and advanced vehicle permitting activities across various state and local jurisdictions, including initial applications, renewals, modifications, and decommissioning processes.

* Coordinate seamlessly with manufacturing and operations teams to gather necessary documentation for registration, such as vehicle identification verifications and manufacturer certificates of origin.

* Process and track advanced vehicle permit applications and renewals with relevant regulatory bodies.

* Maintain precise and up-to-date records of vehicle identification, registration status, and permit requirements.

* Oversee safety driver qualifications and permitting, including reviewing driving records to ensure eligibility, maintaining comprehensive driver files, and conducting regular audits.

* Monitor filing deadlines, upcoming renewals, and eligibility changes, ensuring all submissions are timely and accurate.

* Support internal audits, external inquiries, and regulatory inspections by maintaining robust documentation and clear traceability of all filings.

* Collaborate with legal and regulatory affairs teams to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable internal processes and controls.

* Partner closely with operations to anticipate needs for new markets and fleet expansion, providing essential day-to-day support for operational aspects like insurance, traffic citations, and tolls.

**Must-Have Qualifications:**

* 4+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory operations, permitting, fleet management, or a similar function.

* Strong organizational skills and a proven comfort working with detailed, repeatable processes.

* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage high-volume, detail-heavy workflows with multiple deadlines.

* Clear and concise written communication skills, with comfort collaborating across diverse cross-functional partners.

* A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset with a strong willingness to learn advanced vehicle-specific regulatory requirements and thrive in a fast-moving environment.

**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**

* Experience working for a fleet manager, automotive retailer, rental car company, or a state Department of Motor Vehicles.

* Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing vehicle registration, fleet operations, or advanced vehicle permitting.
