The Designer will play a key role in supporting the company's marketing efforts by creating clear and compelling designs across various formats. These designs will communicate the brand's message, highlight our product portfolio to advertising clients, prospects, and consumers, and encourage engagement with LAT Studios events and products across digital, email, social media, streaming, television, and print. The Designer role will establish and maintain a consistent visual tone across advertising assets, sales collateral, promotional campaigns, and internal/external communications. The role will create designs ranging from conceptual sketches and high-fidelity mock-ups to final execution across all media.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute engaging marketing campaigns for the company's business platform, B2B Publishing, across print, digital ads, social media creatives, web banners, and thumbnails.
  • Design visually compelling marketing decks, sell sheets, and presentation materials for pitches and client meetings.
  • Create promotional assets including digital and print ads for marketing campaigns, events, and LAT Studios initiatives.
  • Prepare mock-ups and visuals for the company's web pages, print covers, and special sections.
  • Ensure all designs and marketing materials adhere to brand guidelines and accurately reflect the brand's tone and messaging.
  • Adapt designs for different platforms and formats, optimizing for accessibility, visibility, and user engagement.
  • Design and create logos, lockups, and brand marks for motion graphics, 2D, and 3D animation.
  • Produce visuals that support advertising clients, partnerships, and business opportunities, including marketing and sales collateral, digital/print ads, social media, email campaigns, video sizzle reels, and direct mail.
  • Generate concepts, sketches, graphics, and high-fidelity executions to support brand and marketing campaigns, packaging, and store design.
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Communications, or Marketing and 3+ years of professional experience with a portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills across digital, print, social media, and video platforms OR 6 + years of professional experience with a portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills across digital, print, social media, and video platforms.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental marketing principles including social, online/digital, product development.
  • Great organizational skills with design files as well as great attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of typography .
  • Strong project management with the ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Tech savvy, with the ability to resolve solutions on the spur of a moment.
  • Ability to leverage feedback and channel it into design exploration.
  • Strong storytelling skills.
  • Knowledgeable and flexible with both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Intuitive knowledge for design consistency throughout assets.
  • Ability to successfully apply necessary brand elements, and able to expand style guide to various assets.
  • Proficiency in Graphic Design software and Apple Keynote, including animation capabilities.
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Character Animator, Motion Graphics, 3D animation, Blender, 3dsMax.
  • Strong background in Google Drive and MS Office Suites.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Basic understanding of motion graphics and animate vector and 2D graphics for advertisement, socials, and websites.
  • Strong understanding and skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (other Creative Cloud programs are a plus).
  • Knowledge of front-end web development.
  • Copywriting skills for marketing materials.
  • Basic video editing skills.
  • Understanding of social media marketing principles.

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $70,000 to $80.000 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At the L.A. Times Studios, LLC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
