Office Assistant

Academic Summer Day Camps, PreK - Grade 5

The part-time Office assistant will work onsite at Northwestern University in the Center for Talent Development (CTD) offices for the duration of the position. The Office Assistant helps the Advanced Enrichment team with pre-session site set-up tasks, and during the session works closely with the Supply Coordinator to inventory, package, organize, and move supplies. This position reports directly to the Program Assistant to support CTD's Academic Summer Day Camps.

Pay: $17 per hour, 20 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Previous office experience, experience in customer service.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and proactive thinking required.
  • Effective, professional communication skills required.
  • Strength and mobility to lift supply boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist Supply Coordinator with supplies management

    • Identify supplies in inventory vs. supplies that will need to be ordered.

    • Organize, label, and stage supplies for transport.

    • Manage supplies inventory spreadsheets.

    • Communicate with instructional staff about their classroom supplies.

  • Support CTD program staff in preparation for staff trainings, copying for sites, communicating with staff about on-boarding steps and documentation, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from families and school staff and relay pertinent information to site administrators.
  • Learn and implement CTD policies and procedures regarding health, safety and confidentiality.
  • Uphold and promote the CTD Honor Code among staff and students.
  • Follow all CTD rules and regulations concerning staff conduct and appropriate dress.
  • Assume program-related responsibilities as requested by program staff.
