Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary functions are to coordinate all aspects of the residence and ensure that client needs are met by actively assigning and overseeing residential living staff in their completion of duties and established unit routines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure adherence of staff to agency policy and procedures, union guidelines, and to standards, procedures and schedules established by the Program Supervisor and/or Unit Director
  • Provide ad hoc supervision and programmatic decision making
  • Plan and implement community integration plans for consumers
  • Exercise sound judgment and good decision making appropriate to assignment
  • Provide all appropriate documentation set forth by Director
  • Interface with families of residents other interested parties as needed
  • Ensure a safe and clean living environment for residents
  • Intervene in crisis situations and facilitate as appropriate
  • Ensure adequate staffing
  • Attend appropriate in-service as directed by supervisor
  • Report and provide feedback to Program Supervisors and Director regarding any issues affecting site operations, employee performance, individual care and programming
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), crisis intervention and medication administration using agency-trained protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:Unit Director/Associate Director

DIRECT REPORTS: None; oversight of direct care staff on assigned shifts

CONTACTS: Elwyn personnel, clientele, funding and regulatory agency personnel, family members and visitors

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two years of post-secondary education
  • Two years of experience in the field of Intellectual Disabilities
  • Must be able to perform CPR using agency-trained protocols
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, 3 years driving experience, and acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change in workload
  • Good organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve in a creative manner
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties in an independent manner with little or no need to direct supervision
  • Must possess the ability to work in a variety of environments and settings with flexible hours
