Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The mission of the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy (the School) is to prepare students for lifelong success in health careers by providing an excellent, student-centered learning environment. These efforts are assisted by linkages across the University of the Pacific (the University) professional and liberal arts programs. The Assistant Clinical Professor or Associate Clinical Professor, LA/Long Beach Regional Coordinator is a full-time, non-tenure track appointment at the University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice. The LA/Long Beach Regional Coordinator is responsible for the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience ( APPE) program in the LA/Long Beach region.

The position is located in LA/Long Beach, California. The duties of the LA/Long Beach Regional Coordinator include supervising senior PharmD students during their experiential rotations, precepting APPE rotations and teach selected didactic courses, facilitating interprofessional education, scheduling rotation sites for students assigned to their region, coordinating regional conferences, advising students in their region, providing clinical services and preceptor support to VA Long Beach, the host institution, and providing support and development to volunteer preceptors in the LA/Long Beach region.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist or eligible for licensure in California; if not licensed in California, licensure within one year of hire is required.
  • Pharm.D. with PGY1 residency or fellowship or equivalent experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PGY2 in ambulatory care or acute care
  • Strong background in ambulatory or acute care pharmacy practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Travel:
Visit potential experiential sites and the Stockton campus for meetings.

Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.

Hiring Range $125,000-$135,000 per year (We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.)
