IT Support Analyst

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) is seeking a full-time IT Support Analyst. The selected candidate will provide technical assistance, analysis, and troubleshot hardware and software programs ensuring smooth IT operations within the district. The IT Support Analyst is responsible for all software-related training for staff who need to successfully utilize all District technology resources.

Duties and Responsibilities include:


  • Create and maintain web applications such as calendars, contact forms, etc.
  • Coordinate with website design consultant ensuring that all websites are accessible to those with special needs.
  • Ensure that websites are accessible from a variety of different environments and operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, manage root cause analysis, and coordinate timely resolutions.
  • Assist users with CUPHD applications, including Microsoft Windows and Office, and other applications where appropriate.
  • Assist the IT Network Administrator with day-to-day operations of the CUPHD network, servers, computer and phone end points.
  • Support the department's data infrastructure, including managing file sharing, permissions, and backups.
  • Ensure system and data security through the use of antivirus and encryption technology.
  • Manage system backups and recovery plans and provide software training and support for all District employees.
  • Act as back-up for Helpdesk Technician when needed.
  • Public Health Emergency Response Responsibilities: All District employees must be able to respond to public health emergencies when needed and appropriate. During an emergency response, employee may be assigned to a role in either operations, logistics, or administration by the Incident Commander and/or Section Chief in addition to regular duties.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Requirements and Qualifications


  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in computer science, information technology, or a related field plus three (3) to five (5) years of proven experience supporting users and computers in medium-to-large organizations.
  • Certifications in CompTIA A+ and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) highly desirable.

The expected annual starting salary is $58,405. Full annual salary range for a Class 7 IT Support Analyst is $58,405 - $78,847 for a 40-hour week.
