Description
The Senior Storekeeper is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures accurate inventory management, maintains proper stock levels, and monitors quality control. The Senior Storekeeper coordinates with internal departments and external vendors to support operational needs, enforces compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and leads or mentors junior storekeeping staff to maintain efficient warehouse and storage operations.
Qualifications
* Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds.
* Skilled in operating personal computers, electric and manual pallet jacks, forklifts, furniture and supply dollies, heavy-duty transport carts, phones, fax machines, and copy machines.
* Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
* Education and experience consistent with departmental requirements; prior experience in inventory, supply management, or warehouse operations preferred.
* Thorough knowledge of infection control and healthcare regulations.
* Ability to provide guidance and resources on sterilization, product information, and equipment operation to staff and healthcare team members.
* High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to policies, procedures, and quality management programs.
* Willingness to attend in-services, workshops, fire, safety, disaster, and body mechanics training; assists with orientation and skill development of new staff.
* Maintains a safe and clean work environment; monitors and reports unsafe conditions and assists with resolutions.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills; courteous and respectful to coworkers, patients, and visitors.
* Positive attitude, efficient time management, flexibility with workload and rotating shifts, and commitment to team collaboration.
