If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL)! As the Program Manager in the National Security Space Mission Area in the Space Exploration Sector (SES), you will oversee and manage enterprise level requirements, design reference mission architecting, and ground capabilities based in El Segundo, California in support of the Space Warfighting Implementation Program Area Manager. You will ensure seamless execution of system-of-system integration, enabling space warfighting requirements. The ideal candidate will establish a plan to capture these national security space efforts while working across the program team to guide program execution, delivering critical contributions to the United States government. You will manage, grow, and develop experienced project managers and multi-disciplined engineering teams. You will develop and execute a strategy to enable the Mission Area Strategic Vectors, and will identify opportunities for internal and external collaboration. External engagement will be required across a wide-range of Department of Defense (DoD) sponsors and industry organizations. Thought leadership and the ability to address critical challenges with impactful analytic approaches will be key in this role. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
