THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform manual custodial work and care of all Academy buildings and surrounding grounds. You will clean offices, classrooms, dormitories, hallways, and stairways. You will also mop and dust floors, empty trash containers, check the operation of lamps and lights, move furniture, and unload supplies. This role requires the ability to operate and maintain common machinery and equipment associated with cleaning duties. In addition, you will ensure adequate bathroom supplies are available, clean restrooms and locker rooms, and verify Cadets have properly performed assigned custodial duties in their training program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work the first weekend of Cadet Class arrivals.
  • Irregular Schedule: You may work a flex schedule that is not core hours. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Free parking
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a Class C Driver's license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
