DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will provide clerical support to the Administrative Manager, Command Staff, and other personnel of the Greensburg Troop by ensuring clerical/administrative operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Clerical Assistant 2 will perform as the Greensburg Station Clerk and will transfer data from incident, supplemental, homicide, and investigation reports into a prescribed computerized format. Maintains, updates, and purges various files in numerical, alphabetical or subject order and prepares, types, and processes various correspondence and reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- 1 year or more of experience using Microsoft Word.
- 1 year or more of experience using Microsoft Excel.
- 2 years or more of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
- 1 year or more of experience processing incoming and outgoing mail.
- 1 year or more of experience working in a position that required processing invoices, payments, and managing financial accounts.
- 1 year or more of experience working in a position that requires maintaining a filing system.
- Previous experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
- Previous experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.
- Previous experience with preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.
- Previous experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
