DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will be responsible to review sexual offender registration submissions including both electronic submissions through the Pennsylvania Offender Registration Tool application (PASORT) and/or receives mailed or faxed paper submissions. All submissions and updates must be reviewed for accuracy and to ensure the information is grammatically correct, complete, consistent, and adheres to statutory requirements and other agency rules or regulations. Compares new information reported to information already contained in PASORT. Identifies and examines inaccurate information contained in the registration forms and work queue and, depending on the error, enters correct information into PASORT or completes an investigative process. Disseminates the updated information to various law enforcement agencies. Independently approve updated sexual offender information within the statutorily required time frames as outlined in 42 Pa C.S. 9799.28 and 9799.63. Good customer service skills are required in order to handle job related telephone calls to and from registered sexual offenders, county 911 centers, clerk of courts, and law enforcement agencies. Answers questions and requests clarification on discrepancies found on sexual offender verifications and updates submitted to PASORT or received vail mail/fax. Communications with out of state law enforcement agencies or sexual offender registries to request, receive, or send information regarding sexual offenders who are moving to or from Pennsylvania.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Free parking at this facility.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- One (1) year or more of customer service experience.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
