The University of Iowa Campus Safety is seeking a night shift Temporary Security Officer to operate the NITE RIDE shuttle service.Additionally, this position is responsible for following assigned routes/schedules, reporting discrepancies, hazards and unauthorized use, notifying police division as needed, using portable radio communication, and traversing campus in all weather conditions.

This position is performed fully on campus.

Duties to include:

* Operates nightly NITE RIDE shuttle service - follows routes/schedules as assigned.

* Reporting discrepancies and hazards and notifying police as needed.

* Use of portable radio communication, body cameras, and departmental vehicles

* Use of vehicle camera system and small electronics.

* Traversing outdoors in all weather conditions.

Schedule: 7 days/week: 8:30PM-4:30AM (Temporary employees limited to 29 hours per week/780 hours per fiscal year)

Location: Campus Safety, UCC and surrounding campus

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

* Valid Driver's license is required and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.

* Successfully complete a criminal background check

Desirable Qualifications

* Ability to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with the public that fosters good relations.

* Demonstrated customer service experience.

* Basic computer skills.

* Effective communication skills, oral and written, to interact with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
